Our members are over in the UK for EMF camp, follow @tog_dublin on twitter for updates on how the camp is going.

Lock Picking: Runs on Mondays, the 3rd and 17th of September at 7pm. Come down and try your hand at cracking open tumbler, tubular or warded locks.

Craft Night: Runs on Wednesdays, the 5th and 19th September at 7pm. Knitting? Crochet? Embroidery? Laser cutting? 3D printing? Join us and work on something you know, or learn something you don’t.

Electronics and Micro Controller Night: Runs on Mondays, the 10th and 24th September at 7pm. Arduinos, Raspberry Pis and Intel Galileos are just some of the things you can work on down here, or try our introductions to electronics worksheet. Recommended you bring your own laptop.

The Science Fiction Book Club will meet on Wednesday 26th September. This month’s book is The Shockwave Rider by John Brunner, published in 1975. Cake will be available.

We are taking part in Dublin Culture Night again this year, Friday 21st September. https://culturenight.ie/event/tog-hackerspace/

TOG will have a stand at this year’s EU Contest for Young Scientists, https://www.eucys2018.com, which runs from 14th to 16th of September at the RDS, Merrion Road, Ballsbridge.  We will be showcasing a range of projects and activities, including a constellation umbrella, bone conduction, boat models, wearables and interactive games.

TOG Dublin Maker BBQ

On Sunday 22nd July, from 14:00-18:00, we’ll be holding a BBQ in the space as a bit of a wind-down following Dublin Maker 2018.

Maker is always a hectic day, but great fun too. It’s great for us to have a lazy, wind-down afternoon in the space. Drop in and say hello. We’ll have some food and drinks on the go, and a bit of banter too. Hope to see you there. We’ll be sure to give you a tour of the space if you’ve never been in to see us before.

Help!

We need your help! We recently got some news regarding our space which has presented quite a challenge to us. We’re still digesting the news and discussing our options. As you know, we hold our regular Open Social every month. This months Social is on Saturday 19th May from 19:00. Please make a special effort to visit us. We want to tell you more about the challenge facing us. We also want YOU to tell US how we can make TOG more available to you, and to listen to your opinion and suggestions.

If you’ve never been to our Social, you’ll find it a great alternative Saturday evening in town. Come in and look around. If you’ve never been in before, we’ll give you the grand tour of the space. Talk to members and visitors about projects or things you’d like to do. If you like what you see, ask about joining as a full member. Weather permitting, we’ll have our pizza oven going outside, so come and have some pizza on us. Hopefully there’ll be caint, ceol agus craic as usual. The space stays open until the last member is left……usually the small hours of Sunday morning.

Our Open Socials are always free to attend for both members and visitors alike. No need to book…. just turn up. You can drop in for 10 minutes, or stay the whole night. We have parking available. Bring beer, food, gadgets! Our doors will be open from 19:00. Hope to see you there.

April Open Social + Science Hack Day Dublin

What’s better than TOG’s regular monthly Open Social?  It’s our Open Social, with one of the best Hackathon-style events that we’ve ever hosted going on at the same time!  This month we have our regular Open Social evening on Saturday 21st April from 19:00. Going on at the same time will be TOG’s hosting of Science Hack Day Dublin. Expect the space to be filled with people doing all sorts of wacky stuff.

TOG March Open Social

OK, so it’s a bit late for St. Patrick’s Day, but that won’t stop us having our regular Open Social evening on Saturday 24th March from 19:00. It was originally scheduled to take place on St. Patrick’s day itself, but we pushed it out a week to Saturday 24th.

If you’ve never been to our Social, you’ll find it a great alternative Saturday evening in town. Come in and look around. If you’ve never been in before, we’ll give you the grand tour of the space.
