Hack Across Europe in Dublin
At the last Lockpicking Night (12th February) we had a special visitor to the space. Darren Kitchen is hacking his way around Europe, and last week he was in Dublin. He stopped by the space and filmed a segment of this Hak5 episode from our humble little brown leather sofa.
We’d like to take this opportunity to apologise for our boisterous lockpickers (you should hear our parties…), and hope it doesn’t distract too much from the great content about captive portals. By all accounts everyone had a great time, so if Darren is making his way to a town near you it’s worth looking him up. If not, there’s plenty at Hak5 to keep you entertained.
Starving Hacker Rate Reduction
The AGM has come and gone, and good news non-members, the Starving Hacker Rate has been reduced to €20 a month! The same price as a tshirt! (For sale in TOG…) It’s never been more affordable to become a TOG key-carrying member! Interested? Come talk to us about it!
Accepted to Maker Faire UK
We are ecstatic to have been accepted to this year’s Maker Faire UK. The event takes place in Newcastle on Saturday / Sunday 27th/ 28th of April. This event back in 2011 got many of us in TOG interested in Maker Faires. It inspired us to go on and showcase our projects at two other Maker Faires, Dublin and New York. We are looking forward to our 3rd.
Is anyone else from Ireland a maker at this faire or going ? Leave us a comment.
Testwall Equipment Donation
Last week we collected some used electronics test equipment which was donated to TOG by Testwall. Testwall have an office and laboratory in Sandyford Industrial Estate in Dublin, where they sell and rent new and used test equipment, and provide repair and calibration services.
From the photo you can see the large selection of test equipment we received. It will take us some time to figure out the functionality and capabilities of such a wide range of devices.

World Maker Faire New York
We are delighted that two of our members have been accepted to showcase their projects at next months World Maker Faire. Jeffrey and Robert will be bringing along projects they have worked on and a duck or two.
World Maker Faire is very like our own Dublin Mini Maker Faire but on steroids with over 500 makers. It takes place on the 29th & 30th of September in New York. If you in the area drop by and say hello.
