“Tuesday 28th March will be the official launch of the Wicklow Makers (TBD) campaign to set up a makerspace in County Wicklow.
A campaign to create a makerspace for Wicklow, where anyone with common interests, such as art, crafts, computers, diy, electronics, machining, robotics, science, technology and more; can meet, socialise and collaborate.
I’ve been following the makerspace/hackerspace scene for over a decade and I admire what TOG have done for the scene in Dublin but unfortunately visits to either of the closest spaces to me of TOG or SEMS would require a 4/5 hour round trip reliant on public transport. This might be fine for the occasional weekend but rules out regular trips and weekdays visits.
Having met many I know there is a diverse community of makers with a variety of interests based in County Wicklow. Rather than bemoan the lack of a space locally, I am now willing to devote the effort and time required and I hope others will join me in the endeavor and together we can starting planning and organising with the aim of setting up a makerspace in County Wicklow.
For those who cannot help out I would still like to invite you to join us on this journey to gauge the interest and gather feedback.
Throughout Spring 2023 I intend to start reaching out to fellow makers both personally and online via social media with the aim of getting this campaign rolling.Then during the summer once we have some sort of committee of interested individuals we can starting planning the setting up of a makerspace.

Tog At UCD Innovation Academy’s Green Week Repair Clinic
UCD Innovation Academy, Tog Hackerspace and a team of UCD volunteers will be on hand to give your broken items a new lease of life, from repairing small electrical goods to rejuvenating your favourite pair of jeans.

Our repairers will be happy to take a look at your broken:
- Clothes, Toys, Musical Instruments
- Chargers, Headphones, Printers, Projectors, Sewing machines, Lamps.
- Household items: Clocks, Hairdryers, Irons, Hoovers, Toasters, Kettles, Games Consoles and other small household and kitchen items.

Tog At Dublin Comic Con Spring 2023
Dublin Comic Con returns to the Convention Centre Dublin on March 11th and 12th. We will be there for the spring edition. This is Ireland’s leading pop culture event. An event for the whole family. Covering everything from movies/tv shows to comics, cosplay and gaming!
We will have a fan table on both days. We are excited to showcase some cosplays that were built by our members. New sample projects to give everyone an idea of what can be built in our space. Please drop by and say hello.

March Mechanical Keyboard Meetup
Attention all Mechanical Keyboard enthusiasts!
We are excited to announce our second Mechanical Keyboard Meetup, taking place on Sunday, 12th of March 1 pm to 4 pm. We are teaming up with the MK Ireland Discord community to give you a chance to come together and celebrate our love for mechanical keyboards. We want to share our knowledge, and connect with other keyboard enthusiasts from the community.
Bring your keyboard(s) along and meet other hobbyists, chat about modding and building keyboards, or if you don’t have a keyboard but are curious about mechanical keyboards, come along and try other people’s keyboards and chat with those in the know.
We’ll have tea and coffee available on site and Tog has an affordable tuck shop with fizzy drinks and snacks.

January Repair Café Round Up
We had over 60 items in for repair during our January Repair Cafe. A great mix of items from electronics, furniture, toys and much more.
We even had the national press interview our own Jeffrey Roe all about why we repair.

Engineers Week Soldering Workshop
