Event Recap: A Day of Community, Music, and Wellness at the IMSA Dublin Sheds Network/Music Fest

On Thursday, August 29th, Tog Hackerspace, proudly represented by our member Jeffrey Roe, attended the IMSA Dublin Sheds Network/Music Fest. Organized by the Irish Men’s Shed Association in collaboration with Bluebell CDP and Dublin South City Partnership, the event took place at “The Bungalow Wellness Sanctuary” in Bluebell, combining community spirit, music, and health awareness.

Warm Welcomes and Insightful Talks

The day began with registration and refreshments, followed by a warm welcome from Tommy Coombes of the Bluebell Shed and the Irish Men’s Sheds Association. The morning featured insightful talks from Shauna Callaghan (Land Development Agency), Alan Sherry (Dublin City Council), and Cillian O’Donoghue (South City Partnership), all emphasizing the power of community collaboration.

Music, Creativity, and Wellness

The event then transitioned into the Shed Music Fest, where participants brought their instruments and shared their musical talents. The atmosphere was vibrant, with music fostering a strong sense of camaraderie. Alongside the music, the Irish Heart Foundation offered health checks, reinforcing the importance of wellbeing within the community.

Celebrating Our Community

As proud members of the Irish Men’s Shed Association, we were thrilled to meet and connect with other Sheds at the event. Jeffrey reported back that the day was filled with inspiring talks, joyful music, and a strong sense of community. It was a fantastic experience, and we’re excited to have been a part of such a meaningful gathering.
